The Design Studio of Architecture Department of “17 Agustus 1945” University of Surabaya and the Indonesian Institute of Architect (IAI) of East Java are pleased to announce that they are jointly organizing the International Seminar entitled “Comprehensive Design for Surabaya Metropolitan City” on 1 May 2009, in “17 Agustus 1945” University. This Conference will be hosted by Architecture Department of “17 Agustus 1945” University of Surabaya.
Objectives
This International Seminar provides an international forum for students, researchers, academics and practitioners to address fundamental problems and constraints that affect the Built Environment in Surabaya Metropolitan City. The broad objectives of the conference are:
§ To provide a forum for multi-disciplinary interaction between academics and practitioners;
§ To provide an internationally recognized, accredited conference for the Bulit Environment in Surabaya Metropolitan City;
§ To disseminate innovative and cutting edge practices, and
The organizers aim to bring together students, researchers, academics, and practitioners representing educational institutions, government agencies, contracting organizations, consulting enterprises, and other organization related.

Abstracts and Papers
Authors are invited to submit abstracts in English of not more than 200 words for peer review by the scientific and technical committee. Each abstract should indicate the theme of the seminar the proposed paper will address, and give the name and full contact details of the author to be contacted concerning the paper. Abstracts will be reviewed according to: the relevance to the themes and objectives of the conference; originality of subject matter; likely academic rigor of the proposed paper; and likely contribution to knowledge, or practical relevance, of the proposed paper.
